Mr. Myers blends the sounds of calypso and ska, the rhythms of reggae and a touch of rock and roll with some favorite tunes to create their own special style of music — Caribbean rock.
Mr. Myers’ unique combination of musical styles may be difficult to define and perhaps challenging to play, but it never fails to entertain audiences everywhere, young and old alike.
Mr. Myers began producing its unique blend of music in 1981 and has since become a favorite dance band in clubs, at summer festivals, on college campuses as well as corporate and private parties throughout the Midwest.
The band's upbeat sound creates a carefree mood; its musical message is not based heavily on politics or religion. Their cleverly arranged cover tunes or artists such as Bob Marley, Jimmy Buffett and Harry Belafonte and energetic original songs get audiences on their feet in no time!
The magic of Mr. Myers' trademark sound stems from bandleader Todd Donnelly's use of authentic steel drums or steel pans, a rarity in bands from the Midwest. Mr. Myers also pulls its sound from its highly talented and diversely educated members, all having strong backgrounds in jazz, classical, rock, and world music. Featuring wailing sax, searing rock guitar, colorful steel drums, powerful percussion and strong vocals, Mr. Myers succeeds at playing its blend of Carribbean Rock to enthusiastic mainstream audiences everywhere.
 The band has received a tropically warm reception at a variety of events, including park districts, festivals, corporate functions and colleges, as well as clubs and private parties throughout the Midwest. Mr. Myers has the unique ability to adapt their shows to fit any occasion, and has a special appeal to family audiences. The group encourages audience participation with sing-alongs and limbo contests to get all involved in the fun.
