The Randy Salerno Foundation

"His time with us was painfully short, but he lived every day to its fullest.

And that is the legacy, the catalyst for the creation of the Randy Salerno foundation.

We strive to pay tribute to this wonderful man, by doing what he did, live for today and touch the lives of others."

~Mrs. Irene Salerno

The Randy Salerno Foundation was created in January 2008, shortly after the untimely death of its namesake. It was assembled by friends and family, eager to do all they could to keep Randy's memory alive. The Foundation became part of the healing process, helping the bereaved struggle with the loss of someone so dear.

Within six short months, the Foundation put together its first fundraising events. Working diligently to host events Randy would have enjoyed himself, the Foundation put together the 2008 Celebrity Golf Tournament and Evening Gala. The 27 hole golf tournament was held at Boone Creek Golf Course in McHenry, where Randy teed off every Sunday with a foursome of friends. The Jimmy Buffett themed gala was held at Lippold Park, where Randy and family spent many weekends participating and attending sporting events. Both events were huge successes. The Foundation raised enough money to create endowed scholarships at Randy's two alma maters, Crystal Lake South High School and Illinois State University.

Randy's memory will live on.
